Today we're diving deep into MyQ's "Easy Scan" feature. One of the cool things about the easy scan feature is that it's flexible. It could be set up as a one-click formula. Basically, one button predefined with your favorite destination and your favorite parameters. So, for example you could have a scan-to-email function which always goes to one email set up in the right resolution.
Or...
it could be set up so that you can always choose what to do with the document manually.
Or...
you can have the machine take care of the process for you all by itself.
One look at the document, and the software knows exactly what to do with the document and where it needs to go. Gets smarter every time I see it. Basically, your scanning needs are complex, it becomes simple. Your scanning needs are simple, it becomes simpler.
Okay, let's start with a quick fire round of all the destinations you can scan to. Cloud storages, like Google drive or Sharepoint. This feature can be set up as a single sign-on. Don't trouble yourself typing in your login info all the time. Email, the address book will appear on the interface itself. Fax, a folder or multiple folders. Secure link. It's a download link where the file can be transferred directly onto the system's hard drive. The best case to use this is when you're sending big files to email boxes that have a limited storage capacity. And FTP for scanning.
Now let's talk about the document itself in terms of parameters. Note that each brand has its own dedicated set of options. Pause the video so that you can take a look of an example list of parameters. Now on the admin side of things you have the access rights that you can give to each type of user. They can also customize code books so that users have a set of options they can choose from manually. OCR is also available on the platform making the document searchable or giving you the option to transform them into a file type such as an excel. A third-party program can also be added onto the workflow of the scanning process. If you have your own OCR engine, you can integrate that as well into the system.
Finally, I'd like to mention the options you can create for yourself with an advanced OCR engine. You can leave your scans all up to the software. Just scan and go!
Now the Smart functionality can recognize what type of file is sitting on the scanning dock. For example, it can know whether it's an invoice or a contract. And it can be set to handle each specific type of file in a specific way each time.
