80% faster deployments

Say goodbye to group policies, manual scripts, in-tune configurations, and other legacy procedures. Deployment using 3P takes only a few clicks. Moreover, printer drivers are managed via a clean, user-friendly interface that allows IT teams to create new queues and scale deployments in minutes. Resulting in reduced complexity, fewer errors, and faster deployment times.

BYOD peace of mind

BYOD devices being managed by their dedicated profile, removes the need for complex scripting or manual configuration. Instead of spending hours building, testing, and maintaining custom BYOD scripts, IT teams can rely on a structured and automated setup that works efficiently. It reduces routine service desk tickets, eliminates repetitive requests, and allows IT to focus on higher-value tasks rather than ongoing BYOD maintenance.

Export and import

Forget the repetitive and time-consuming task of creating new profiles for every deployment from scratch. With the ability to export your most frequently used profile, you can easily reuse proven configurations across new projects. In just a few clicks, the same setup can be applied to any office or department, ensuring consistency, faster rollouts, and reliable print queues without unnecessary manual work.

Secured queues

Store and access new profiles in seconds, without disrupting workflows or relying on complex preparation. If a CEO visits a new office, 3P makes it possible to create a fully customized deployment with just a few clicks. The printer queue is activated remotely, instantly, and securely, ensuring the right configuration is applied to the right user at the right location without delays, manual intervention, or unnecessary security risks.

FAQs

Based on partners’ questions, this FAQ helps guide the first steps and simplifies how to deploy printers through a centralized, scalable approach

Can 3P be used on their own, or do they require Enterprise or embedded licenses?
Yes, 3P can be purchased for Smart Edition, which means they can be used without embedded terminal licenses.

At the same time, the feature is primarily designed to work alongside embedded terminal environments. From a technical perspective, there is no requirement to install a separate file as long as you have patch 21 and above.

For commercial details, the recommended route is to consult the relevant account manager or price book.

Is there any difference between Education, Government, and Commercial editions when it comes to 3P?
No. 3P is provided as a single module across all license types, including Education, Government, and Commercial editions. From a functionality perspective, the feature works the same way regardless of the edition used.

Does using 3P require additional hardware resources, such as more memory or processing power on the server?
The use of 3P does not introduce a separate, universal hardware requirement beyond the existing platform guidance. The applicable system requirements remain aligned with the current MDC 10.2 documentation.

As with any deployment, resource requirements depend on the overall installation design, including the number of clients, enabled functionalities, and total throughput. A recommended reference point is up to 10,000 clients per site, though final sizing should always be assessed based on the specific environment.

For larger or more complex deployments, it is recommended to review the setup with MyQ technical specialists.

3P packages offer two included profiles for perpetual license and five included profiles for subscription. Can you explain that?
Printer Provisioning Profiles (3P) packages provide access to two included profiles under a perpetual license, while a subscription includes five profiles.

The two included profiles refer to two configuration profiles, not to two users or two administrators.

A profile represents a defined print configuration assigned to a specific user group or use case. For example, one profile may be used for a shared Follow Me queue for all users, while another profile may be created for a specific department, role, or print scenario requiring different settings.

The number of profiles needed depends on how many different print configurations, queues, drivers, or finishing options are required in the environment.

Will 3P licenses also be available through OEM and distributor channels?
Yes. 3P licenses are intended to be available through OEM and distributor channels as part of the standard ordering process.

Updated price books and part numbers are being made available through the relevant distribution networks, allowing partners to purchase the module through their usual channel.

After upgrading to MyQ patch 21, can customers still deploy drivers the old way using Group Policy or Intune?
Yes. After upgrading to MyQ patch 21, customers can continue using existing deployment methods, including Group Policy, Intune, and other legacy approaches.

Printer Provisioning Profiles are not mandatory. Existing deployment methods remain supported, and there are currently no announced changes for the legacy model.

New installations use 3P by default, but existing customers may continue with their preferred deployment model if that better fits their environment.
